Chris Skaggs

Professional biography

I’m a brand, communications, and business executive with 20 years of progressive leadership experience translating complex technology, business strategy, organizational priorities, and community impact into clear, compelling narratives.

My career hasn’t followed a traditional communications path, and I consider that one of its strengths. I began in recruiting and talent leadership, but over time my responsibilities expanded across brand strategy, communications, marketing, customer engagement, sales, and growth strategy. That journey has given me a broad perspective on how organizations build trust, communicate value, engage audiences, align teams, and turn strategy into meaningful action.

Today, I serve as Chief Revenue Officer at TSP, where my leadership responsibilities span multiple areas of the business. Along the way, I built and led the company’s first formal brand, marketing, and communications function, helped shape its enterprise narrative and brand positioning, and developed integrated storytelling strategies across thought leadership, executive communications, public relations, digital content, social media, video, customer communications, and employee engagement.

That work has reinforced something I’ve come to believe throughout my career: the strongest stories don’t exist independently from the business; they come from understanding the strategy, the audience, the people, and what an organization is trying to accomplish. My broader business and growth experience helps me approach communications through that lens, connecting creativity and storytelling with organizational priorities and measurable outcomes.

My leadership philosophy is simple: momentum happens when people, strategy, and story come together. I’m most energized by finding the story inside complex organizations and translating it into something people can understand, connect with, and act on. Whether the audience is customers, employees, partners, candidates, or communities, I believe clear and authentic communication can build trust, strengthen relationships, and create lasting momentum.

Areas where I spend most of my time and energy include:

  • Brand Strategy and Development

  • Corporate, Executive, and Technology Communications

  • Enterprise Storytelling

  • Thought Leadership and Content Strategy

  • Media and Public Relations

  • Audience Building and Engagement

  • Community and Stakeholder Relations

  • Business and Growth Strategy

Outside of my professional career, I’m the co-founder of Leighton’s Gift, a nonprofit organization created in memory of my daughter. Through fundraising, advocacy, storytelling, public relations, and community partnerships, we’ve raised more than $500,000 to support NICU families and improve neonatal care experiences. I’ve also served on nonprofit boards and committees including Texas Health Resources Foundation, Texas Health Resources Community Impact, March of Dimes, and North Texas Christian Academy.

My nonprofit and community work has reinforced one of the most important lessons of my professional career: stories have the power to bring people together, inspire action, and create meaningful change.

Whether I’m shaping an enterprise narrative, building a brand, helping leaders communicate complex ideas, bringing teams around a shared strategy, or supporting causes that matter deeply to me, I’m driven by the same goal: finding the story, creating connection, and turning that connection into meaningful impact.
